Zada Ellen Carter, age 91, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. She was born October 1, 1933, in Arkadelphia, the daughter of the late Willis Mack and Allie Wright Graham.
Ellen worked as a hairdresser and at the school cafeteria for many years. She was a member of second Baptist Church in Arkadelphia. Ellen enjoyed cooking and fishing in her free time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Carter, five brothers, Joe Graham, Paul Graham, Dois Graham, Arlen Graham and Russell Graham, three sisters, Lyda Neighbors, Mattie Haltom and Barbara Wilcer.
Ellen is survived by one son, Terry Carter (Kathy) of Arkadelphia, one daughter, Janice Newsom (John) of Longview, TX, three grandchildren, Heather, Tiffany and Tilly, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Private family graveside services will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Honorary pallbearers are David Golden, Jim Phillips, Darren Crow, Dan Turner, Randy Garner and Danny Hays.
