April Fools’ Day came and went as expected. Without using The Arkadelphian’s Facebook page to funnel readers in, our website count of visitors and views skyrocketed for the day, 539% over the previous day. A caller from Helena, interested in test driving a Cybertruck as “advertised” by Southwest Auto Collection, inquired whether the Clark County Constitutional (dot com) was legitimate. Countless texts from regular readers. An email complaint was answered with the promise that we’d fire Lola Beedow for her poor news reporting and photography skills. Sorry, Lola.
The source of light pollution tonight appears to be south of town. Our guess is an enormous facility in Gum Springs.
Acknowledging there are more questions than answers regarding the recent mysterious death on Walnut Street. As of Wednesday morning, the matter remains under investigation, according to Arkadelphia’s police chief. We will report what we can, when we can.
We don’t participate in many surveys, but one from the Arkansas Department of Commerce caught our eye recently as it was a sponsored Facebook post: In which part of the state do you belong? It was a brief questionnaire, and we answered honestly. Survey says: We belong right here in Southwest Arkansas.
