The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Monday, March 17
6:50 a.m.
Officers were called to Carpenter Hill Apartments, 670 S. 6th St., for a welfare concern on a female whose mother had not heard from her or her three children since March 13. Police arrived to find the back door ajar. The property manager allowed entry and a phone number to a person who had picked them up the previous evening. No foul play was observed in the residence. The reporting officer recalled conducting a welfare check on the female the previous evening at Arkadelphia Gun & Pawn. Surveillance footage was reviewed there and at Tiger Mart, where the female and her children were seen getting into a light blue Nissan sedan and leaving west on Pine Street. After noon, the mother again phoned police to say she had gotten in touch with her daughter and was satisfied with her welfare.
11:30 a.m.
A Camden woman reported leaving her iPhone in a shopping cart at Brookshire’s. Police and management reviewed surveillance footage that showed a white male retrieve that cart, but were unable to ascertain whether he took the phone. The complainant was advised to contact her service provider to report the phone as stolen.
Tuesday, March 18
8:33 a.m.
A man at Cox Trailer Park, 1319 N. 10th St., reported two large dogs attacked his small dog in his front yard, leaving a large wound and puncture wounds on the little canine. Officers were unable to make contact with the other owner.

6:05 p.m.
Officers were called to a residence at the 1900 block of Sylvia Street for a report of a stolen lawn mower from a carport. The mower was described as a green and black Greenworks 48v with a 20-inch deck.
11:25 p.m.
Police were summoned to a residence at the 1600 block of O’Connell Street for a complaint of a vehicle’s broken back glass. The complainant advised that her boyfriend picked up a chair, threw it into the window and fled on foot. A search for the suspect was fruitless. Late the next evening officers were called back to the residence, where the suspect reported he was the victim of an attack by the girlfriend. He didn’t wish to pursue charges.
Wednesday, March 19
Juvenile report: Endangering the welfare of a minor
8:55 p.m.
Police were dispatched to Carpenter Hill Apartments for a complaint of domestic violence. The male suspect fled the scene after the incident.
9:20 p.m.
Officers were called to South 25th Street Circle for a report of a pine tree that had fallen onto a vehicle during heavy winds. An officer noted a only a small branch of the tree was touching the hood of the vehicle, which sustained a couple of small dents and a few scratches once it was backed from the tree. The caller was advised a report would be on file in the off chance there was more damage that could be seen in the daylight.
11:35 p.m.
An open 911 call with no communication sent police to the 900 block of South 13th Street, where they learned the call was a drunken mishap by Jacobo Diaz Martinez, 20. Martinez was instructed to go back inside, and officers left. Shortly after midnight, officers returned to the same address for a complaint that Martinez was being verbally aggressive; upon arrival there were multiple individuals working together to physically restrain Martinez. There was a language barrier between the involved parties and police; however, one person gave police a phone with a person on the other line who translated that Martinez had been throwing things. Martinez was then detained for the charge of disorderly conduct. A check of his Mexico identification revealed that he was under the age of 21. Officers requested paramedics meet them at the jail due to his state of extreme intoxication. He was also charged with possession of alcohol by a minor.
Thursday, March 20
3:05 p.m.
A resident at the 1500 block of O’Connell Street complained of vandalism to a decorative light pole in her front yard. She suspected the responsible parties to be a group of youths who have trespassed on her property.

10:48 p.m.
Officers were requested at the 1900 block of O’Connell Street for a report of stolen lawn mowers. One mower is a battery-operated Dewalt push mower, and the other is an unknown make blue/white/gray push mower from Atwoods.
Friday, March 21
5:06 p.m.
Staff at Lucky Liquor, 3035 W. Pine St., reported a shoplifter concealed three bottles of whiskey in his pants and drove away on Pine Street, toward the interstate. An officer spoke with a manager at Celebrations, 1210 N. 10th St., and showed a photo of the suspect, who was identified as a Hope man who had been arrested in previous years for stealing from local liquor stores. The suspect is named in the police report but had not been arrested at the time of the report.

Sunday, March 23
2:58 a.m.
Police were dispatched to Elliston Place Apartments, 222 N. 20th St., for a female’s report of another woman provoking her to fight outside. The instigator fled prior to police arrival. The caller was advised of affidavit procedures.
7 a.m.
Paramedics and police were dispatched to a residence at the 2500 block of Caddo Street for a person bleeding from his head. Upon arrival officers made contact with the bleeding man at his carport driveway. With the door ajar, police were able to observe a female cleaning blood off the walls inside. They watched as both entered a bedroom, where the female was manipulating a purse while the bleeding man grabbed a shirt. Police saw a metal crack pipe on the floor just inside the carport door. Questioned about the two lacerations on his head, the bleeding man named a suspect who had struck him over the head with a frying pan and fled the residence. He did not wish to pursue charges. While searching for the suspect an officer saw what appeared to be crack cocaine at the foot of a bed where the female had been tampering with her purse. Questioned about the pipe and the substance, the lady gave no definitive answer. The drugs and paraphernalia were seized as evidence, and the male was transported by ambulance to Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia.
8:53 a.m.
While searching for a suspect involved in a shooting incident, an officer made contact with a pedestrian identified as Chris Gregory, 31, outside the old Peake school building on Caddo Street. The name did not match the suspect involved in the shooting, and Gregory was allowed to continue on his way while the officer, Sgt. Kenny Taylor, searched a criminal database to discover Gregory had a warrant for aggravated residential burglary. Contact was again made with Gregory, now at 15th and Barkman streets, where Taylor exited his patrol car and explained the warrant. Gregory replied that his attorney had made arrangements for a court appearance on the warrant. Taylor then informed Gregory of procedures needed to validate his claim as Gregory fled south on foot toward Caddo Street. Taylor gave chase, also on foot, and twice deployed a Taser, unsuccessfully. The chase continued across Caddo Street, and Gregory was apprehended at Main and Lincoln streets and transported to the county jail for the felony warrant and additional charges, including resisting arrest and fleeing.

Thursday, March 20
6:01 p.m.
Deputies were dispatched to 101 Texas Road for a report of an assault on first responders. Upon Deputy Codi Hood’s arrival, bystanders and DeGray firefighters pointed to the residence in question and advised that the suspect, possibly armed, had retreated inside. As Hood waited behind his patrol car for backup, 34-year-old Corey Rosskuokoa Hall exited his home, traversing the steps at a fast pace and “charging” at Hood. As Hall approached he had his right hand inside his pants as if concealing a weapon. Hall refused Hood’s commands to get on the ground as the deputy, aiming his gun at Hall, stepped back and continued his commands. Hood was able to switch to non-lethal and deployed a Taser into Hall. Firefighters and OEM assisted Hood in detaining Hall. Other deputies arrived on scene, and paramedics showed up to remove remove the Taser prongs. Once cleared by medics, Hall was transported to the county jail. Statements were taken from firefighters, who noted they had responded to the area for a report of a possible fire and, upon locating the source, Hall approached one fireman from behind and ultimately punched one in the face, as well as knocking down another who intervened before he retreated inside.
