Letter to the editor: Keep tornado sirens in Arkadelphia

I saw on TV that Arkadelphia is looking at maybe getting rid of the tornado warning sirens and moving to text notifications instead.

I think we need to KEEP the sirens. Some people will not get text messages because their phones may be turned off or away from them, or because they’re not signed up.

If it weren’t for the sirens last Friday, my daughter wouldn’t have known to take cover as she did.

Keep the sirens. Going cheaper is not always the best or safest for everyone.
