ARKADELPHIA, Arkansas — A sophomore secondary English education major was crowned Miss Ouachita Baptist University 2025 at a pageant held Saturday, Feb. 1.
Ava Weeks took the honor. Representing the Women of EEE, Weeks is the daughter of Jeff Weeks and April Cook, and plans to become a high school English teacher. Her talent was a vocal performance of “Climb Every Mountain” from The Sound of Music. Her community service initiative, “Buckle Up Back Seat” aspires to educate young people about the importance of riding safely in vehicles by buckling their seat belts regardless of where they are sitting.
In addition to being crowned Miss OBU, Weeks was named winner of the Talent and Evening Wear categories, and took home more than $2,600 in prizes and scholarships.
Weeks will be competing for the title of Miss Arkansas in Little Rock June 7-14. Miss Arkansas 2024 Camille Cathey helped crown Weeks and presented more than $6,000 in scholarships and prizes.
First runner-up went to Kidron Romoser, recipient of the People’s Choice Award and On-Stage Conversation Award. Hailing from Rogers, Romoser is a sophomore majoring in speech and communications disorder. She won $1,050 in scholarships.
Second runner-up in the 2025 contest was Avery Smith. The sophomore business major from Conway earned $900 in scholarships, and won in the Alpha Interview and Academic categories.
