Flood Warning for Arkadelphia this weekend

The National Weather Service in Little Rock issued a Flood Warning for the Ouachita River at Arkadelphia affecting Hot Spring, Clark and Ouachita counties.

Minor flooding is forecast for the area from Friday morning until Sunday morning, Jan. 31 through Feb. 2, 2025.

The flood stage at Arkadelphia is 17 feet. At that level, farmland along the river begins to flood, along with the railroad underpass at Arkansas Highway 51.

Wednesday evening the river was at 5.4 feet and is expected to rise above flood stage late Friday morning to a crest of 17.5 feet that evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Saturday morning.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected for the Arkadelphia through Thursday afternoon. West central Arkansas could see rainfall amounts totaling 2-4 inches, with locally higher amounts in some areas. A few strong to possibly severe thunderstorms may happen through this afternoon, with the best chances for that activity in the far southern sections of the state.
