The Clark County Retired Teachers Association’s January meeting was with county Judge Troy Tucker. He informed the group about the Arkadelphia Bypass, which will be three lanes from 26th Street to U.S. Highway 67 and three lanes from the intersection at Tiger Mart on Pine Street all the way to Caddo Valley, when completed. There will additionally be a pedestrian bridge built on the outside of the Caddo River bridge at Caddo Valley for the safety of walkers and bicyclists.
The judge also provided an update on the consolidation of all Clark County 911 emergency services into one location in downtown Arkadelphia. Sales tax revenues, especially from online sales, has afforded the county to make several improvements: new roof, carpet, and windows in the Courthouse, purchase 10 replacement air conditioners, as well as donations to Clark County Fair Board, fire departments, Humane Society, and much more.
