Clark County jobless rate at 4.1%

Clark County’s unemployment rate for November 2024, not seasonally adjusted, is at 4.1%, according to a preliminary county-by-county report released by the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services.

According to the report, Clark County had a labor force of 8,998 persons with 8,631 employed and 367 unemployed. This compares to October’s labor force of 8,997 with 8,653 employed and 362 unemployed.

The unemployment rate in Clark County rose one-tenth of a percentage point from the 4% reported in October. Clark County had the second-highest jobless rate among each of its six neighboring counties, second to Montgomery County. The highest jobless rate in Arkansas was 6.4% in Chico County (Lake Village) in the extreme southeastern corner of the state, while Washington County (Fayetteville), on the opposite corner of the state, reported the lowest jobless rate, at 2.2%.

Statewide, Arkansas’s seasonally adjusted jobless rate remained at 3.3%, the same as the previous month. The U.S. unemployment rate was also unchanged from October, at 4.2%.

The unemployment rate for Dallas County (Fordyce) is at 3.6% in November, up from 3.3% in October. Dallas County reports a labor force of 2,640 persons with 96 unemployed.

The unemployment rate for Hot Spring County (Malvern) is at 3.4% in November, down from 3.3% in October. Hot Spring County reports a labor force of 13,704 persons with 471 unemployed.

The unemployment rate for Montgomery County (Mt. Ida) is at 4.4% in November, up from 3.9% in October. Montgomery County reports a labor force of 2,786 persons with 123 unemployed.

The unemployment rate for Nevada County (Prescott) is at 3.5% in November, up from 3.2% in October. Nevada County reports a labor force of 3,209 persons with 111 unemployed.

The unemployment rate for Ouachita County (Camden) is at 3.7% in November, down from 3.8% in October. Ouachita County reports a labor force of 9.759 persons with 361 unemployed.

The unemployment rate for Pike County (Murfreesboro) is at 3.5% in November, no change from the previous month. Pike County reports a labor force of 3,933 persons with 138 unemployed.
