There were no life-threatening injuries Wednesday morning after a head-on vehicle collision at a DeGray Lake landmark.
The crash sent one SUV over the guardrail at the Highway 7 dike and onto the grassy slope opposite the lake.
The accident happened just before 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 13, 2024, near the Clark and Hot Spring county line. According to Arkansas State Police, a female driver, running late for class at Henderson State University, was traveling southbound on state Highway 7 and attempted to pass another motorist. With oncoming traffic closing the distance, the driver called off the attempt but lost control and slid back into the opposite lane.
A northbound vehicle then struck the SUV’s passenger side, sending it over the guardrail and down the grassy embankment a short distance before coming to a rest, according to ASP.

Everyone involved was reportedly stable and responsive at the scene. Both drivers and some passengers in the northbound vehicle were transported to CHI Hospital in Hot Springs.
