Rain brings relief to dry conditions; burn ban remains for Clark County -

Widespread rain Thursday brought some relief to a bone-dry Arkansas, as the state Division of Forestry reduced wildfire dangers in most counties to a “moderate” risk.

Until Thursday’s showers most of the state had been under an “extreme” risk for wildfire. Two levels below extreme, a moderate risk means fires can still start from accidental causes, and although fires may not become serious caution should be taken.

Many county judges had dropped their countywide burn bans by Friday afternoon. A ban was still in effect for Clark County. Neighboring Nevada and Dallas counties had lifted their ban.
