Storms should roll through region ahead of All Hallows’ Eve

As a cold front approaches from the west, scattered thunderstorms are expected to move into western Arkansas Wednesday evening and through the night.

Some of these storms could produce damaging wind gusts. A lower threat exists for tornadoes and hail.

At Arkadelphia, there is a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday evening, with a high near 80. The chance of precipitation increases to 80% early Thursday morning, mainly after 3 a.m. Showers and thunderstorms should exit the area by 1 p.m. Thursday. The forecast does call for a 30% chance of rain Thursday night.

Widespread rainfall is expected across the region over the next seven days, with 1/2-inch to as much as 2-inch amounts expected across Arkansas through Friday and more heavy rainfall expected through the middle of next week.
