A Clark County home was destroyed in a fiery blaze Thursday evening.
The residence at 148 Neels Corner Road, located about a quarter-mile west of US Highway 67 between Gum Springs and Curtis, is a total loss. Residents of the home fortunately were not injured, officials confirmed.
Curtis and Gum Springs volunteer fire departments were dispatched to the home just before 5 p.m. Oct. 10, 2024. DeGray firemen would later be summoned to the scene to deliver a tanker truck with water. The Arkadelphia Fire Department was also at the scene.
Plumes of smoke billowed upward and were visible from Arkadelphia, about 5 miles north.
Online real estate records indicate that the property belongs to Wally and Sway Beard.
It was not immediately known what caused the fire.
