Spooky season is here and the City of Arkadelphia is celebrating with three family-fun events leading up to Halloween in 2024.

Halloween Movie Night

The festivities will begin on Thursday, Oct. 24, with a Halloween Movie Night. Starting at 7 p.m., city officials will show the 2002 live-action film, Scooby Doo. Take a journey with Scooby, Shaggy, and the rest of the Mystery Inc. to Spooky Island, as they try to crack the case on a haunted resort.

The movie will be shown in the Town Square lot. Admission is free. Movie-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and pillows to enjoy the film.

Fall Fest

City officials are excited to host their first Fall Fest celebration on Saturday, Oct. 26, in downtown Arkadelphia. Originally slated for 2023, the event was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Fall Fest features a 20+ animal petting zoo, train rides through downtown with Queen City Trains, pumpkin painting, a dunk tank, inflatables, yard games, food trucks, and a stream of the Arkansas Razorbacks game at Mississippi State on the city’s movie screen. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. Admission is free.

Main Street Trick-or-Treat

It would not be Halloween in Arkadelphia without the city’s community trick-or-treat! Beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, more than 50 area businesses and organizations will set up in the Town Square lot for a community-wide trick-or-treating event.

Area residents are encouraged to participate in the games and giveaways that are guaranteed at the Main Street Trick-or-Treat! Businesses interested in participating are encouraged to email the city’s Special Events Manager at halle.mann@arkadelphia.gov.
