Juanita’s Candy Kitchen, an Arkadelphia business known for its homemade peanut and pecan brittle, will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary during a special event organized by the company and the Arkadelphia Alliance and Chamber of Commerce.
Scheduled for Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, at 11 a.m., the event will include a special ceremony, recognition of the business’s contributions to the local community, and remarks from local leaders. Juanita’s Candy Kitchen is located at 47 Stephenwood Dr.
The event will highlight the business’s history, from its humble beginnings in 1974 when founder Juanita cooked batches of peanut brittle in a small building behind her home and sold it from her car across Arkansas. Over the years, the business grew as Juanita added pecan and cashew brittle to her line and expanded into a larger facility.
Though Juanita passed away in 2001, her legacy lives on through the company’s continued dedication to “keeping customers happy by making the best brittles.”
