First Presbyterian Church hosting discussions on emotional care this fall

ARKADELPHIA, Arkansas — This fall, First Presbyterian Church (FPC) invites the community to engage in a special series of conversations focused on emotional well-being. As part of FPC’s ongoing mission to nurture spiritual fellowship, promote worship, and eliminate social injustice, we are offering practical tools and insights to support emotional health alongside spiritual care. These sessions reflect our commitment to using the gifts God has so graciously given us to exhibit the Kingdom of God both in our community and the world beyond.

“Emotional health is an essential part of living fully and authentically as God has created us. At FPC, we believe that balancing emotional, spiritual, and physical care brings us closer to the holistic life God intends for us,” said Pastor Smith. “We are so excited to offer this series as a way for our congregation and the larger community to come together and explore these important topics.”

Join FPC for an evening of fellowship, dinner, and meaningful conversation. Made possible by a generous grant from the Future of the Church Committee of the Presbytery of Arkansas, this series will be led by Beverly J. Bejarano, Licensed Professional Counselor and friend of FPC. These sessions are made possible by a generous grant from the Presbytery of Arkansas’ Future of the Church Committee.

Group discussions and personal reflections will provide an opportunity for shared learning. (Dinner provided)

Having Hard Conversations and Navigating Conflict
November 6, 2024 | 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Conflict is a natural part of relationships, but it often feels overwhelming. This session will offer guidance on approaching difficult conversations with empathy and confidence. Participants will learn healthy communication techniques through guided exercises and group activities, fostering deeper connections and transforming conflicts into opportunities for growth. (Dinner provided)

At FPC, our mission is to proclaim the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ, as understood in the Reformed tradition. By nurturing spiritual fellowship and providing spaces for personal growth, we work together to reflect the Kingdom of God in all we do. We welcome everyone in the community to participate in these sessions and join us on this journey toward emotional and spiritual well-being.
