Building Permits: Law firm expands headquarters; High School Drive excavation

The City of Arkadelphia issued 16 building permits with an estimated construction value of $900,475 for the month of August 2024.

The estimated year-to-date value of construction jobs in Arkadelphia now totals $9.62 million.

Records were obtained from the city’s Building Department under the Freedom of Information Act and include valuations of work except where omitted from reports. Here’s a rundown of permits issued in August 2024:

Taylor King Law hired Seale Construction to expand its existing commercial building at 322 Main St. and to add parking space. The work is estimated to cost $577,000.

The Gurdon-based McKenzie Farms was hired for excavation/dirt work at 323 High School Drive, a commercial property owned by Montgomery Rentals LLC / A Plus Storage of Caruthersville, Missouri. There was no price listed for the work.

The recent demolition of a gas station at 3039 W. Pine St., owned by Littlefield Oil Co. of Fort Smith, cost $50,000. M&M Construction of Arkadelphia was hired for the job.

Ouachita Baptist University contracted Scott Nelson Construction to install two sets of stairs at Lancelot Apartments, 101 N. 4th St. The commercial alteration comes with a $25,000 price tag.

A remodel for a recently burned rental property at 308 N. 15th St. will cost homeowner Frank Mitchell $50,000. Wayne Ruble was hired for the job. A separate job to repair the roof, contracted to Ark Roofing & Gutters, cost an additional $8,000 to complete.
