Arkadelphia school board holds light meeting

The Arkadelphia Board of Education met with a full quorum Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 5 p.m. to conduct an agenda planning session for its regular board meeting.

The board voted to change the date of the regular meeting to Thursday, Aug. 22, at 6 p.m.; school board meetings are generally held the first and third Tuesdays of each month.

Eight minutes into the meeting, the board convened in executive session. Upon returning to open session the board approved the following personnel recommendations:

Employment – certified

Rebecca Ivy, special education teacher, Goza

Employment – classified

David Loe, maintenance/HVAC

Karen McClanahan, building secretary/bookkeeper, Peake

Resignation – certified

Melissa Miller, special education teacher, Peake

Transfer

Ranaya Ester, from special education teacher at Goza to special education teacher at Peake

With no further business the board adjourned the meeting at 5:20 p.m.
