Don Neal Smith, age 79, of Bismarck, passed from this life on Friday, July 12, 2024, at his home. He was born October 27, 1944, in Caney, the son of the late Clark and Gracie Ledbetter Smith.
Don was a 1962 graduate of Ouachita Hich School. He worked for Reynolds Metals Company and H & T Truss Mill. Don was a member of Midway Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandkids.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sherry Smith, three brothers, Harold Smith, Truit Smith and Hank Smith, two sisters, Muriel Brewer and Meathel Godbey.
Survivors are two sons, Robby Smith (Jerri) of Bismarck and Jeremy Smith (Lynette) of Donaldson, two sisters, Christine Sanders of Bismarck and Maxine Wilson (Mancel) of Memphis, TN, six grandchildren, Shayna LaSalle, Hayden Smith, Dalton Smith, Noah Smith, Judd Smith and Katie Smith, and one great-grandchild, Aurora Vandiver.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Midway Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. Fred Etheridge and Ralph Ruffin officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Welch Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Caney Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Hayden Smith, Dalton Smith, Noah Smith, Judd Smith, Marty Smith and Tommy Smith.
Memorials may be made to Midway Missionary Baptist Church.
