State report: Clark County unemployment rate fell in March

Clark County’s unemployment rate, not seasonally adjusted, is at 4.1% for March 2024, according to a preliminary county-by-county report released by the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services.

According to the report, Clark County had a labor force of 8,449 persons with 8,099 employed and 350 unemployed in March. This compares to February’s labor force of 8,416 with 8,017 employed and 399 unemployed. The unemployment rate in Clark County fell six-tenths of a percentage point from 4.7% in February.

Clark County had the second-highest unemployment rate in the seven-county area surveyed.

Statewide, Arkansas’s unemployment rate fell one-tenth of a percentage point to 3.5% in March, and the national jobless rate rose one-tenth of a percentage point to 3.9%.

The unemployment rate for Dallas County (Fordyce) is at 4% in March, down from 4.1% in February. Dallas County reports a labor force of 2,650.

The unemployment rate for Hot Spring County (Malvern) is at 3.6% in March, down from 3.8% in February. Hot Spring County reports a labor force of 13,670.

The unemployment rate for Montgomery County (Mt. Ida) is at 4.7% in March, down from 5.2% in February. Montgomery County reports a labor force of 2,998.

The unemployment rate for Nevada County (Prescott) is at 3.6% in March, down from 4% in February. Nevada County reports a labor force of 3,308.

The unemployment rate for Ouachita County (Camden) is at 4% in March, down from 4.2% in February. Ouachita County reports a labor force of 9,761.

The unemployment rate for Pike County (Murfreesboro) is at 3.4% in March, down from 3.6% in February. Pike County reports a labor force of 4,065.
