DeWayne Eugene Tibbs, age 63, of Caddo Valley, passed from this life on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock. He was born July 29, 1960, in Camden, the son of Keith Elsworth and JoAnn Nutt Tibbs.
DeWayne was a retired English teacher having taught at Emmett, Gurdon and Hope High Schools. He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Arkadelphia. DeWayne enjoyed traveling, reading, watching action movies and most of all spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn Nutt Tibbs.
Survivors are his father, Keith Elsworth Tibbs of Mabelvale, his wife, Hayley Sullivan Tibbs of Caddo Valley, one son, Benjamin Eli Tibbs of Caddo Valley, one daughter, Lily Grace Tibbs of Caddo Valley, one brother, Russell Tibbs (Kay) of Midlothian, VA, two sisters, Darla Knight (Greg) of Mabelvale and Diane Darbonne (Alton) of Benton.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 13, 2024, at Welch Funeral Home with Pastor Louie Heard officiating. Interment at Tuesday, May 14, at Spotts Cemetery at Poughkeepsie.
