Nancy Smith

Loving mother, Nancy Ann Smith, went home to Jesus to join her loving husband of forty-seven years, David Allan Smith on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at age 69. Nancy was surrounded by loving family members when she passed at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Nancy was born to Imon Green and Shirley Williams on August 31, 1954 in Camden, Arkansas.  Nancy graduated from Prescott High School in 1972 and Henderson State University in 1976. Nancy and David were married on December 28, 1974 and went on to have three wonderful sons, who Nancy dearly adored and devoted herself to raising.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Nancy also had a passion for knitting, crochet, and church choir. She was also a skilled seamstress. Nancy spent many years as a classroom facilitator at Van Cove High School, Jacksonville High School, and had great pride in her most recent position as a Distance Learning Monitor at Arkadelphia High School. Nancy was dedicated to her student’s success, often going above and beyond to make sure her students had the necessary tools required to excel in their studies.  Throughout Nancy’s entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She was a devoted member of Trinity Temple Assembly of God in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

After Nancy’s retirement from Arkadelphia High School, she focused her time on her sons and grandchildren, attending as many family functions, school activities, birthday parties, and extra-circular functions as possible. She loved sharing her extensive knowledge and talent of all thing’s art, knitting, crochet and sewing with her granddaughters. She  especially loved and cherished drop in visits from her two youngest grandchildren and watching them grow and learn.

Nancy joins her father, Imon Green and her husband, David Allan Smith in Heaven.  Nancy is survived by her three sons, Brandon Smith of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Brook “Allen” Smith (Laura) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Colin Smith (April) of Bismarck Arkansas, sisters, Sheila Harper (Rick) of Springhill, Arkansas, Connie Martin (Gene) of Prescott, Arkansas, Leisa Green of Mena, Arkansas, and Pam Toland (Ralph) of El Dorado, Arkansas.
