Dispatch Desk: Feb. 12-19

The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Arkadelphia Police Department

Monday, Feb. 12
1:54 a.m.
Montres Dequandre White, 29, was arrested outside Elliston Place Apartments, 222 N. 20th St., for fleeing, obstructing governmental operations, disorderly conduct and driving without a license. As an officer was en route to the complex for a report of White taking her car keys, the officer happened to be traveling behind the complainant’s vehicle, following it to Elliston Place where White was asked to talk to police. He reportedly swore and took off running, first hiding behind an AC unit but eventually entering the backseat of someone else’s vehicle, where he would soon be located.

10:12 a.m.
Alexis Dewayne Gant, 44, of Arkadelphia, was arrested at the 1400 block of Walnut Street for third-degree domestic battery following a complaint of a physical altercation between two males.

11:50 a.m.
Police took a theft report of cell phone accessories at Sherwin-Williams, 1305 Pine St.

1:42 p.m.
Officers responded to a domestic disturbance between a male and female at a South 25th Street Circle residence. No arrest was made.

10:21 p.m.
Officers again responded to Elliston Place Apartments after a female reported a known male, who’d been arrested earlier that morning, had broken the back doors of her car. She was advised to contact the prosecutor’s office to file for a no-contact order against the suspect. The responding officer noted both rear doors were broken at the hinges but was able to repair them so they properly closed and secured.

Tuesday, Feb. 13
Juvenile: Information only.

4:35 p.m.
An unattended death was reported at a Druid Hills residence. The deceased was a 59-year-old female and likely died from natural causes.

Thursday, Feb. 14
3:37 a.m.
A female resident at Powder Mill Apartments, 2801 Twin Rivers Dr., reported a known suspect attempted to break into her residence through a window. Officers were unable to locate any signs of entry.

10:05 a.m.
A Village Drive woman reported the theft of a bicycle. She requested extra patrol of the area as she had noticed an unusual amount of foot traffic in the area, especially late at night.

3:36 p.m.
A Welch Street man attempting to get utilities turned on at his apartment learned that someone has been using his Social Security number on an existing Entergy account.

Friday, Feb. 16
Juvenile: Harassment.

5:12 p.m.
A Crawford Street woman reported the theft of a diamond bracelet, which she suspects was stolen during the Thanksgiving holiday when she hosted 20+ guests at her home.

5:47 p.m.
Officers responded to a Hemphill Road residence for a physical altercation that had taken place between two men. The fight reportedly started inside and made its way outside before the aggressor fled in a white GMC SUV bearing temporary tags. The complaining individual suffered minor injuries as a result of the fisticuffs but did not require medical treatment.

Saturday, Feb. 17
5:04 p.m.
A Walnut Street resident reported being the recipient of a harassing phone call from a known suspect.

Sunday, Feb. 11
6:47 p.m.
A Meeks Road, Okolona, woman reported a known male has been coming onto her property uninvited.

Wednesday, Feb. 14
2 p.m.
A deputy responded to a car fire at 12229 Highway 8, Amity. The driver, a North Little Rock man, said he noticed smoke emitting from the hood and pulled over. The car sustained significant damage to the front end, and was towed away from the scene.
