The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Monday, Jan. 8
9:43 a.m.
Police were called out to Fairfield Inn & Suites, where hotel management found a white powdery substance believed to be methamphetamine on the breakfast bar near food items. The meth was seized and given to Group 6 Narcotics to be placed into evidence.
Tuesday, Jan. 9
3:50 p.m.
Vehicle vandalism was reported at Pine Court Apartments, 120 N. 20th St. One person was named as a suspect, but there was no evidence to positively identify the person.
11:49 p.m.
Officers were summoned to a residence at the 300 block of South 23rd Street for a report of an attempted break-in that left the front door damaged.
Wednesday, Jan. 10
12:45 p.m.
Clarence Lewis, 69, of Kissimmee, Florida, was cited at Walmart for theft of property following a brief investigation by the store’s loss prevention officer and police.
Thursday, Jan. 11
9:37 a.m.
Peyton Renee Wells, 27, and Jason Matthew Michael, 37, were cited on Pine Street between Walgreens and Pine Plaza for theft of property following a complaint from a Walgreens employee that the pair had shoplifted from the store.
Officers took an “information only” report involving a juvenile.
Friday, Jan. 12
11:44 a.m.
Officers took a report of employee theft at Brookshire’s. The suspected employee admitted to stealing $400 in cash and $50 in merchandise over the course of a week in December. The suspect’s employment with the grocer was terminated. The store manager was advised of warrant procedures. No arrest was made.
4:02 p.m.
A Dalark woman reported a delayed parking lot hit-and-run that happened at Arkadelphia Plaza on W.P. Malone Drive.
Sunday, Jan. 14
Police opened a felony investigation into an aggravated assault on a family or household member at College Inn.
