Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday, Jan. 15.
The 2024 Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration in Arkadelphia will include the traditional Marade, with a guest speaker this year from Little Rock slated to give an address afterward.
The MLK Parade, which commences at 2 p.m., will follow its traditional route from Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 307 N. 16th St., and end at the Clark County Courthouse for a program.
This year’s speaker is Rev. Roy Elliott, pastor of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Little Rock.
That morning at 11:30 a.m., sanitation workers will be treated to a chili supper. Sanitation routes will not run Monday in observance of the holiday.
