There are seven more Clark County inmates in the state prison system in January compared to December’s numbers. The inmates are distributed among several institutions across the state.
The total includes 306 men and 18 women. There are 164 black inmates, 155 white inmates and five of other races.
The following Clark County inmates have a parole- or transfer-eligible date in January 2024, although there are several factors that could affect any individual release for months or years.
Tommy Purdue, 53, is serving a 25-year sentence at the Grimes Unit. He has convictions in Nevada and Garland counties for charges related to arson, forgery and theft. Purdue, of Prescott, was convicted in Clark County for a 2013 case of property theft in which he and Heather Mason stole tools from a Little Mo’s Liquor employee while he worked a shift inside the establishment.
Tony Cooper, 33, is serving a 15-year sentence at the Ester Unit for a slew of burglary and theft charges in Hempstead County. We see no Clark County convictions on his DOC rap sheet, but online court records show that Cooper pleaded guilty in Clark County Circuit Court to 11 counts of breaking or entering and 13 counts of theft of property in a 2011 case.
Matthew Mark Josh Crail, 23, is serving 5 years and currently on work release in Springdale. Crail, of Glenwood, was convicted in 2022 for residential burglary and theft of property. Jacobs was arrested after Arkansas State Police investigated an automobile collision on Interstate 30 near Red Hill Road.
