According to an ASP preliminary fatality report, 26-year-old Hunter Andrew Hornada, of Hot Springs, died early Sunday morning on state Highway 5 North near Fountain Lake, in Garland County.
Hornada was reportedly the passenger of a southbound vehicle and fell from the cargo/truck bed area into the highway. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:26 a.m.
“The driver … left the scene and has been unidentified at current time,” investigating Cpl. Ryan Wingo noted in the report.
Hornada’s body was taken to the Garland County Coroner’s Office.
According to the report, the time of the incident was 2:20 a.m. and happened at the 9900 block of Highway 5.
The Sentinel-Record reported that the driver, identified as David Wayne Reynolds, 53, was arrested the following morning for felony warrants.
Editor’s Note: Preliminary Arkansas State Police fatality reports sometimes contain information that turns out to be inaccurate. Typical errors include spelling errors in names, or incorrect ages; outdated hometown information; vehicle direction of travel; and incident times. The ASP sometimes corrects these errors in updated reports. ASP reports omit names of passengers or drivers who are not injured, even in instances when uninjured drivers may appear to be at fault. The reports also omit names of juveniles who were injured or killed, although we report those names when obtained through other sources.
