The Henderson State chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha sorority collected several bags of food for Peake Elementary School’s student backpack program and delivered it to the school Friday morning.

Peake is accepting nonperishable food items and monetary donations for its backpack food program to supplement students with food insecurity at home. Backpack food suggestions are ramen noodles, canned goods, mac & cheese, pasta, packaged snacks and drinks.

Additionally, monetary donations can be made at Patterson Federal Credit Union to the CARE account.
