Columbia County Circuit Clerk Angela Keith, along with her husband, Benjamin Keith, will face Circuit Judge David Talley Jr. on Friday as he decides their sentences on “no contest” pleas to felony charges

The charges relate to a Thursday, April 6 incident at Santiago’s Mexican Restaurant in Magnolia.

Conviction on a felony charge would lead to Angela Keith’s removal from office. She was elected circuit clerk in 2018 and worked in the office 20 years prior to her election.

The Keiths entered no-contest pleas on August 9.

According to a probable cause affidavit, in summary, Benjamin Keith was drunk, made threats with a knife, injured a police officer and tore up the front door at Santiago’s.
