The Arkadelphia Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution recognized the Arkadelphia Lions Club for their efforts in honoring the U.S. Flag

Accepting the award certificate were club president Nicole McGough and flag project leader Paul Shuffield.

The club currently posts 220 flags for 13 federal holidays along 7 different flag routes in Caddo Valley and Arkadelphia. Presentation was made during the Sept. 12 meeting of the Arkadelphia Chapter by Vice Regent Terry Hagood and Regent Judy Honey.

The flags were recently displayed for the period running from Labor Day, Sept. 4, through Sept. 11.

The flags are posted at businesses and homes of private residents. Anyone can request a flag for an annual fee of $30. Contact Shuffield at 870-403-2022 for information on how to get a flag at your business or home.
