Rosa “Ellen” Bratton, 85, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023. She was born January 8, 1938, to Burt Alonzo Dixon and Elizabeth “Bessie” Louise Kimery Dixon.
Ellen was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, and she worked as a middle school teacher for Arkadelphia Public Schools for thirty years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William “W.C.” Bratton, Junior; her son, William “Bill” “Peanut” Bratton III and her sister, Sue Goodwin.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Robin (Jason) Lynn Dean of Arkadelphia; her brother, Charles Brad Dixon of Texas; her grandchildren: Gary (Tori) Owen, Cody (Sara) Owen and Hope Grandstaff and her great grandchildren: Mason, Lilly, Luke, Logan and Luna.
A visitation will be held Monday, September 11, 2023, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. A graveside service will follow on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Arkadelphia with Brother Phillip Runyan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Clark County Humane Society.
