
The City of Arkadelphia issued 8 building permits with an estimated construction value of $152,000 for the month of August 2023
That figure is down significantly from the $592,850 from 12 projects in July. For the same period in 2022, the city issued 9 permits totaling $968,000 in estimated construction work.
Records were obtained from the city’s Building Department under the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act and include valuations of work except where omitted from reports. Here’s a rundown of permits issued in August 2023:
The City of Arkadelphia hired the Hot Springs-based Keith’s Roofing for a commercial repair to tear off and re-shingle the roof at Fire Station 2, 123 N. 26th St. The cost for the job was $23,500.
Outdoor Pools and Spa was hired to install a 36’x24’ in-ground swimming pool at Dennis Nutt’s residence on Magnolia Drive. Cost was $70,000.
Cole’s Secure Storage filed a permit for the installation of a wall sign at 29 Stephenwood St.
Keith’s Roofing was hired for a commercial repair to remove and replace shingles at Robert Nelson Barber Shop, 1900 Pine St., for a cost of $6,000.
Keith’s Roofing was hired for a roofing job for a single-family dwelling a South 11th Street, owned by Sam Gatlin and costing $9,700.
The Amity-based Square J Construction was hired to repair damage to a load-bearing wall at Tobacco World, 2400 Pine St., for a cost of $25,000.
Keith’s Roofing was hired to tear off and re-shingle the roof of a single-family dwelling at 1223 Evans St. for $10,800.
Billy Francis filed for a permit to repair a metal roof overlay of a single-family dwelling on Golden Street for a cost of $7,000.
