NORMAN, Oklahoma — Miller Harris and Ethan Wilkins of Henderson State Men’s Golf were recognized as 2023 PING All-American Honorable Mentions Tuesday morning. Harris and Wilkins are the second and third Reddies to receive Honorable Mention accolades in the past two seasons, joining Mitchell Ford from 2022.
Harris became HSU’s fifth GAC Individual Champion in the tournament’s history, carding a 54-hole score of 7-under 209. As part of his sub-par tournament effort, Miller’s second-round, 6-under 66 served as the 10th best single round in program history.
Harris finished the 2022-23 season with three Top-5 finishes, including the season opener at the NSU Golf Classic where he placed fourth, and a pair of tournament victories at the Hardscrabble Invitational and the GAC Championship.
Wilkins, in his first year at Henderson St. after transferring in from Division III Illinois-Wesleyan, became the first HSU men’s player to qualify for the NCAA National Championships. The Sussex, Wisconsin, native garnered All-Tournament honors after finishing tied for eighth with a 2-under 214 card. Wilkins sat at +5 after two rounds before recording a field-best 7-under 65 on the final day to climb into the Top-10.
Including the National Championships, the former DIII product closed out the year with four straight Top-10 finishes after competing in just seven tournaments all year, including a tied-for-third finish at the GAC Championships which earned him an All-Tournament nod in his inaugural season in the league.
Both Miller and Wilkins look to return to Arkadelphia next season, serving as the veterans for the 2023-24 squad.
