Arkadelphia construction work dips in May

The City of Arkadelphia issued 14 building permits with an estimated construction value of $180,822 for the month of May 2023. The figure is significantly lower than April construction work, which totaled $395,265 from 9 permits. For the same period in 2022, the city issued 13 permits totaling $717,000 in estimated construction work.

Records were obtained from the city’s Building Department available for public inspection under the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act and include valuations of work except where omitted from reports. Here’s a rundown of permits filed in May 2023:

Keith’s Roofing of Hot Springs was hired to tear off and re-shingle a roof at 1011 N. 15th St. Gary Brinkley paid $14,250 for the job.

Huber Rental Properties LLC paid an unlisted contractor $3,500 for a roof layover with one existing layer to a single-family dwelling at 407 N. 13th St. The estimated cost was $3,500.

Palmer’s Roofing of Arkadelphia was hired to replace 1/3 of a metal roof at 1070 Phelps Circle. Thomas Ta paid an estimated $7,000 for the job.

Tony Vo Construction of Arkadelphia was hired to tear off and re-shingle a roof; remodel a kitchen and living room and replace its flooring and sub-flooring at 1528 Pine Manor. Chad Bradford paid an estimated $40,000 for the work.

Tony Vo Construction was hired to replace sub-flooring throughout at Roslyn White’s home at 911 S. 26th St. The estimated cost was $15,000.

AT&T hired Ketcher Roofing of North Little Rock to tear off and re-shingle a flat roof system at a commercial building located at 405 S. 8th St. The estimated cost was $30,000.

John Ross was hired to move in a 14’x64’ single-wide manufactured home to 1319 N. 10th St. #31. Jay Spinks paid $2,750 for the move.

Patrick and Tricia Wempe moved a 16’x10’ accessory building to 103 Druid Hills. The estimated cost was $5,200.

Jack Keeling Roofing of Arkadelphia was hired to tear off and re-shingle a roof at 715 S. 14th St. Kenneth and Martha Goar paid an estimated $7,000 for the work.

Jack Keeling Roofing was hired to tear off and re-shingle a roof at 1427 Welch St. Richard and Christine Smith paid an estimated $3,000 for the work.

Seal Solar installed a solar panel system at 1415 Wilson St. Myra Houser paid an estimated $13,622 for the job.

The Glenwood-based Blackman Oil Co. hired Pilgreen Electric Service of Gurdon to reinstall a pole fuel sign and one illuminated 4’x7’ wall sign on the facade at Tiger Mart, 203 N. 10th St. The job cost an estimated $10,000.

Keith’s Roofing was hired to tear off and re-shingle a roof at 808 Cupp Dr. Ronald McNulty paid an estimated $16,500 for the work.

Circle K Stores hired Branded Image Group to reface a sign from Valero to Circle K, change a wall sign and reface a canopy at 3005 Pine St. The work cost an estimated $13,000.
