Retired teachers present Gurdon teacher with scholarship

Clark County Retired Teachers heard from Betsy Fisher, Clark County Librarian. She has prepared a busy summer activity schedule for children at the Library. Also she shared other plans and hopes for the future usage of the Library. A donation of $210 was taken to help in this endeavor.

Glenda Aldridge, CCRTA President, presented Patsy Bonds with the CCRTA Scholarship in order to get her Master’s Degree. Mrs. Bonds is a Gurdon special education teacher who loves working with children and hopes to do more for the Gurdon Schools.

CCRTA is sponsoring a Summer Cereal Drive along with Channel 11 and Arkansas Food Bank. The collection will be Tuesday, June 6, from 6 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Brookshire’s in Arkadelphia. Tom Brannon, Channel 11 weatherman, will be there and on live TV at times. Please bring your individual- or group-collected cereal/breakfast items and enjoy the fun.
