Badgers cage Cardinals behind monster fourth inning

By ISAAC BOURNE | The Arkadelphian

The Arkadelphia Badgers (7-4) took a 12-6 win Tuesday night against the Camden-Fairview Cardinals (5-9) behind a stellar eight-run effort in the fourth inning.

Down 1-0 headed into the top of the fourth, a steal of home plate by junior Kaden Brown on an error by the Cardinal third baseman started off an explosion of seven more runs before the end of the frame. Junior Daniel Kesterson, senior Carter Babb, senior Tripp Campbell, and Brown would all get an RBI in the inning, while a Donovan Whitten triple would send in three runners to make the score 8-1 going into the bottom of the fourth.

Despite giving up four runs in the bottom of the inning, the Badgers would rebound with a fifth-inning run, plus three more to finish the Cards off in the seventh.

Pitching for Arkadelphia would be Babb to start. Pitching most of four innings and striking out two batters, he would be relieved by Whitten, who finished out the game with a strikeout to finish off Camden-Fairview.

Friday, the De Queen Leopards come to town for another inter-conference game for the Badgers.
