Elmira White

Elmira White was born in Buckner, Arkansas on September 4, 1932.  She fell asleep in death on March 17, 2023 in Gurdon, Arkansas with her daughter, Maxine, at her side. She was eighty-five years old.

She spent most of her time as a homemaker and spoiling her grandchildren.  She loved to feed who ever came near her that said they were hungry.  She had a love for the elderly whom she would visit at their home or at the nursing home. 

She studied the bible with a host of Sisters in the Hope congregation.  Then in 2007 she moved to Gurdon to be closer to her daughter whom she felt could her draw closer to Jehovah.  She dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized in July 2008.  Now she began the work she loved feeding others spiritually until her mental health declined. 

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Tommy and Aselee Smith; one grandson, Gabriel Morales, and elven brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Maxine (James) Edwards of Gurdon, Arkansas and Josephine Jones of Rowlett, Texas; one granddaughter, Marbella (Brian) Singleton of Austin, Texas, and five great grandchildren, Galatian, Labella, Everette, Clarissa, Xavier and Yasmine.  

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Caddo Valley, Arkansas.
