Motorcycle crash kills Camden man

A wreck on U.S. Highway 79B left a South Arkansas motorcyclist dead when a motorist pulled out in front of him.

Kenneth McIntyre, 58, of Camden, died Tuesday in rural Ouachita County. According to a fatal crash summary filed by Arkansas State Police, McIntyre was traveling southbound on a 2007 Suzuki VL800 when the driver of a northbound 2018 Kia Sorento made a left turn onto the access road and into McIntyre’s path.

McIntyre was unable to avoid the collision and struck the right front side of the Kia and came to a final rest in the turn lane.

The report does not identify the driver of the Kia.

The accident happened Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, at 5 p.m. under clear skies and dry road conditions, according to Sr. Cpl. Billy Walker who investigated the accident.

McIntyre’s body was taken to Proctor Funeral Home in Camden. Tuesday’s fatal crash marks the 73rd this year on Arkansas highways.
