
MALVERN — Arkansas State University Three Rivers is excited to announce the new Head Softball Coach, Kelsey Rhine.
From Haslet, Texas, Rhine graduated from Northwest High School and played collegiate softball for Henderson State University from 2017-2020 before she suffered a career-ending injury.
Rhine became a Student Assistant for the Henderson softball team for the 2020 season while finishing her degree in Sport Management. Rhine returned to Henderson in Fall 2020 as the Graduate-Assistant Coach while obtaining her master’s degree in Sport Administration. She has worked as the Assistant Softball Coach for University of Arkansas at Monticello since 2021.
Rhine will begin her new position in May 2023.
“I am very excited to be joining the Three Rivers community and look forward to being a part of establishing this softball program,” said Rhine. “I have high expectations and hopes for this program and am looking to bring in student-athletes who will not only compete at a high level on the field but have high level character as well.”
The college announced its plans to debut an athletic program in Fall 2023 that include men’s baseball and women’s softball. ASU Three Rivers Eagles will participate in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The division II baseball and softball teams will compete under Region 2 which encompasses Arkansas and Oklahoma.
