APD: No arrest yet in robbery that left 2 dead

Authorities are actively investigating a weekend robbery that turned deadly in Arkadelphia, although no suspects had been named or taken into custody as of Wednesday afternoon.

The robbery happened late Friday evening at 8 Lark Place. The two victims β€” 16-year-old Ayden Hendrix and Quartez “Dada” Burton, 24, both of Arkadelphia β€” were believed to be involved in the robbery.

Hendrix died in a parking lot outside the apartment complex. Hendrix was a student at Arkadelphia High School, according to his obituary. Burton died en route to the Baptist Health Medical Center emergency room.

Arkadelphia Police Chief Jason “Shorty” Jackson said Wednesday that no arrests have been made in connection with the deaths and would not say how many arrests are expected. “This remains an active investigation,” Jackson said.
