
George Lee Smith was born on April 27, 1942 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to the union of Leotha Smith (Jefferson) and Leander Smith. He was a loving, generous & quiet man. He confessed his faith in Christ at a young age. Although he did not attend a formal church setting, he was a believer.
George Lee was a graduate of Peake High School in Arkadelphia. He was a hard worker and dedicated employee of the City of Arkadelphia until his retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to the blues and watching old westerns.
He passed from this life on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock surrounded by his daughter and her children. George was preceded in death by his father (Leander Smith), mother (Leotha Smith), sister (Faye Nnjaifor) and his special niece (Kimberly Smith).
Because we never lose the people we love even in death, his love will continue to live in the hearts of his family. He leaves behind four children, Georgette Smith of Conway, Kevin Smith of Little Rock (LaKeesha), Lisa Smith of Little Rock, and Carter Smith of Arkadelphia; three siblings, Richard Dale Smith (Bobbie) of Arkadelphia, Sampson Smith of Hot Springs Village and his twin sister Georgia Mae Graham of Texarkana; his grandchildren, Asia Ragland (Chris), Alex Rogers, Mecca Smith, Jeremiah Toney, Noah Jones, Javian Smith, Cardaryl Smith and Miles Smith; six great-grandchildren; and additional family and friends.
Per his wishes, George Lee’s remains will be cremated and preserved in the home of his daughter and long-time caretaker, Lisa Smith. Condolences and other acknowledgements can be sent to 2011 Aldersgate Road, Little Rock, AR 72205.
