A late-night car accident Friday in Hot Springs left one man dead.

According to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash summary, Christopher Cortez Collins, 33, was killed Friday in the accident.

The report notes that Collins was traveling westbound in a 2006 Cadillac Escalade on Alpine Street when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and entered the yard of 1512 Summer St. before striking a tree there.

Collins was transported to CHI St. Vincent’s hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The accident happened at 11:52 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, under cloudy weather and on dry roads, according to Cpl. Richard Nunez of the Hot Springs Police Department.

Collins’ body was being held at the Garland County Coroner’s Office.
