
Larry James Giles was born October 9, 1968, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to the union of Susie Mae Giles and Willie Giles Sr. He was a graduate of Gurdon High School, class of 1987. Larry attended Eastern Star Baptist Church. He was also employed with the Gurdon Public School District for many years.
He passed from this life on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at his home in Gurdon, Arkansas.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Susie Mae Giles and Willie Giles Sr.; a sister, Bertha Mae Giles; a brother, Willie Giles Jr.; and stepdaughter, La’Keshia Quarles.
Larry leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Candice Giles, Lee Ann Giles and Keona Giles; 10 grandchildren, Na’Kylia Woodberry, Ja’Quarius Woodberrry, Niyla Raymond, Harmony Giles, Heaven Giles, William Raymond Jr., Loyal Raymond, Carrington Williams, Kayson Bailey, and Kaleb Holliman; two sisters, Diana (David) Quarles and Marilyn Johnson; four brothers, Joe Willie Giles, Ray Charles Giles, Roy Lee Giles, James and Richard Lee (Andrea) Giles; an aunt, Mary Beavers; and two uncles, James Lee Giles and Augustus Giles, all of Lansing, Michigan. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
There will be no public visitation. Services will be held at 1 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 2, with Rev. James H. Giles Sr., eulogist. The interment will be at Rose Hedge Cemetery in Gurdon.
Pallbearers will be Jarvis Giles, Thomas Muldrew, James Giles, Johnnie Smith, Richard Giles and Joe Giles.
