LaMarrieo Hughes

LaMarrieo Martel Hughes was born into this life on December 28, 1988, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. His mother, Sharon knew right away that he would steal the hearts of those who would be fortunate to meet him.

He accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock. He was a 2007 graduate of Oak Grove High School where he excelled in basketball. LaMarrieo was a quiet guy who never met a stranger. He loved horses and sports. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Although he had no children of his own, he loved his nieces and nephews as his own. Family gatherings were of the most importance to him.

He passed on this life Sunday, November 6, 2022. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and nieces, Armani Hughes and Toni Hughes.

He leaves his mother, Sharon Hughes Evans of Little Rock; a special friend, Melissa Anderson of Bearden; his sister, LaBrittney Hughes; his brothers, LaVar Hughes, LaTonneo Hughes, Warren Buckley, Martell Perry, Mario Perry, and Nyisha Perry; nieces and nephews, Syler Stewart, LaBraylon Hughes, Nykee Parham, DaVarious Hughes, LaVarris Hughes, Nybrea Hughes, Jayden Hughes, Armani Hughes, Sydney Hughes, Chloe Hughes, LaTonneo Hughes, II., Tonie Hughes, LaKylee Hughes and Jathan Bowens; his great nieces and nephews, Tamia Hughes, Grayson Deaton, Legend Buford, Jaclyn Hughes and Jhamauni Jefferson; his goddaughter, Kinslee Harrison; uncles and aunts, Lawrence Hughes, Jeffery Hughes, Shelia Giles (David) and Kassandra Reed (Robert); bonus aunts and uncles, Linda Hughes and Maurice Jackson. He also leaves numerous cousins, other relatives, and special friends, Horatio Scott, Marques Pigg Cord Whitaker, Matthew Chamber, Gary Johnson, and several other friends.

Visitation will be Friday, November 11, from 5-7 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. J.L. Newborn, officiating, and Rev. Ivan Lambert, eulogist. The interment will be at Harmony Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Horatio Scott, Furl Berry, Colt Rucker, Alex Gregory, Matthew Chamber, and Terry Hughes. Honorable to mention are Marvin Baltimore, Carlton Craig, Cord Whitaker, Coy Hughes, Kenny Nelson, and Xavier McElroy.
