James Henry Blevins

James Henry Blevins was born on January 18, 1941, in Arkadelphia, to Wiley and Gertrude Helms Blevins.

He was a graduate of Peake High School. He later moved to Dallas, Texas. He worked for several years as a dump truck driver. He enjoyed football and was a Dallas Cowboys football fan. He was a true lady’s man. He lived a simple life.

James passed on Sunday, October 23, 2022, in Dallas, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Helen Blevins.

He is survived by two children, James C. Williams (Peggy) of Forney, Texas, and Toshia Blevins-Williams of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren; one brother, Andrew (Zandra) Blevins of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters; Lynell Stovall of Cary, N.C., Patricia (Tommy) Hall of Dallas, Texas, and Wanda Blevins-Stephens of Little Rock; three stepbrothers, Charles E. (Elaine) Williams Sr. of Sugarland, Texas, Larry D. (Doris) Williams of Springfield, Va., and Michael Smith of Arkadelphia; four uncles; Matthew (Leona) Blevins of Chicago, John H. Blevins of San Diego, Samuel Blevins, and Joseph Blevins of Arkadelphia; three aunts, Dorothy Blevins of Arkadelphia, Pearl Blevins of Little Rock, and Erma Bryant of Duncanville, Texas. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, at Williams Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gum Springs Cemetery.
