
Joseph “Dan” Halliday, age 64, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
He was born August 30, 1958, in Gurdon, the son of the late Dickey Spivey and Mary Ellen Garrett Halliday Sr. Dan was a 1977 graduate of Gurdon High School where he played defensive end for the Go-Devils. He was a log truck driver for Ledbetter Logging. Dan was a member of First United Methodist Church of Gurdon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gun collecting in his free time.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Survivors are his wife of 34 years, Debbie McClure Halliday of Gurdon; one daughter, Brooke Halliday of Gurdon; one sister, Kay Snodgrass of Hot Springs; and two brothers, Dickey Halliday Jr. (Elaine) of Gurdon and Phillip Halliday (Katye) of Gurdon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at First United Methodist Church in Gurdon with Bro. Mike Proctor officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Interment will be in Rose Hedge Cemetery.
