RUSSELLVILLE — Ouachita Baptist University freshman volleyball player Courtney Hanson has been named the league’s setter of the week after assisting the Tigers to a pair of conference road sweeps.

Hanson and the Tigers (9-7, 3-2 GAC) started the week with a 3-0 win across the street against Henderson State, and then posted a 3-0 win over Arkansas Tech on Thursday, marking the first win in Russellville for the program since 2006.
In the win over the Reddies, Hanson turned in 45 assists on 123 attempts for a conversion rate of 36.6 percent. Two days later, she turned in 28 assists on 77 assists against Tech for a conversion percentage of 36.4.
In addition to leading the league over the week in assists with an average of 12.17 per set, the Arlington, Texas native also led the conference in service aces with six total for an average of one per set.
Ouachita, winner of its last three matches, plays its final non-conference match of the season Monday night at home against Mississippi University for Women. First serve is set for 6 p.m. at the Sturgis Physical Education Center.
