Obituary: Jimmy Davis Currey

Jimmy Davis Currey, age 72, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Monday July 18, 2022, in Gurdon. He was born on April 22, 1950, in Red Springs the son of the late Paul and Maggie Smith Currey. Jimmy was a truck driver for Phillip Melton Trucking. He enjoyed working on his log truck in his free time. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Glenda Fay Sparks Currey, two brothers, William Currey and Glen Currey, and two sisters, Peggy Hathcoat and Barbara Dickerson.  

Survivors are one son, Jimmy Don Currey (Amanda) of Arkadelphia, step son, Brandon Malcom (Becky) of Whelen Springs, one daughter, Kim Conant (Greg) of Okolona, step daughters, Tammy Meyers (Jaime) of Whelen Springs and Tracey Malcom of Whelen Springs, one brother, Everett Currey (Patsy) of Gurdon, eight grandchildren, Adalynn Brady, Max Currey, Michael Benson Jr, Brandy Caldwell, Isaac Conant, Savanah Currey, Lexi Currey and Summer Conant, seven step grandchildren, Justin Meyers, Derick Prince, Autumn Markham, Jessie Prince, Chelsea Prince, Trevor Prince and Burgandy Malcom and Twentynine great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday July 20, 2022, at Decipher Cemetery with Bro. Jeff Efird officiating.

No visitation is planned.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Arkansas Heart Hospital.
