A one-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in Clark County left one person dead and another injured after the trailer they were towing pulled the vehicle off the interstate.

According to an Arkansas State Police fatal crash summary, 71-year-old Suzanne Livingston died and her husband, Karl Livingston, 76, was injured when their eastbound vehicle left Interstate 30 near the 80 mile-marker at about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.

The report lists Karl as the driver of the 2009 GMC Sierra that overturned in the south ditch when the trailer it was towing “began to travel out of control causing [the vehicle] to leave the roadway.”

Suzanne was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her body was being held at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia, and Karl was transported to Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia for treatment to unknown injuries.

Road and weather conditions were listed as clear and dry, respectively, according to investigating Trooper Kendrick Davis.
