Soundra Dean Elmore, age 60, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born May 29, 1962, in Monroe, La., the daughter of James Wesley and Cora Sue Kinney Jones. Soundra was a 1980 graduate of Ouachita High School in Monroe and a 1994 graduate of Louisiana Tech. She was adjunct professor at Ouachita Baptist University. Soundra was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, wood working, hiking and drinking coffee with her husband. 

Survivors are her parents, Lora Sue Castle of Monroe, La., and James Wesley Jones (Leslie) of Monroe, La.; husband, Barry Elmore of Arkadelphia; two sons, Samuel Elmore (Hannah) of Maumelle and Josiah Elmore of Arkadelphia; one daughter, Grace Yohong Elmore of Arkadelphia; stepbrothers, Timothy Carter, John Castle Jr. and Billy Castle; one sister, Kim Goldman (Eddie); half sister, Brandi Ginn; and stepsisters, Carla Castle and Connie McKee.

The family will host a memorial service at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at Park Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Craig Seals officiating.
