A Gurdon resident died Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Cleveland County.
Madison Jackson Cary, 20, of Gurdon was killed as a result of an accident that happened at 4:35 a.m. Thursday, June 23, on US Highway 167 north of Moro Creek.
According to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash summary, Cary was driving a southbound GMC when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a northbound Hyundai.
The report notes that three occupants in that vehicle were injured and taken to UAMS Medical Center, St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock and Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. The injured were listed as:
Jonathan Messer, 35, of El Dorado, a passenger
Ashley Messer, 30, of El Dorado, a passenger
Kimberly Vaughn, 57, of El Dorado, the driver
Cary’s body was transported to Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
Weather and road conditions were listed as clear and dry, respectively, according to Trooper Jimmy Plyler who investigated the accident.
